rvdamage

We are now back in Virginia Beach for what going forward will be our yearly visit. Our plan is to come back here once a year for all of our doctors appointments. So this week we have physicals, mammogram, gyn, dermatology, dentist and eye appointments. In between all of this we are saying goodbye again to all of our dear friends. It is great seeing everyone this trip but really sad knowing we are heading west and will not be back for a year. Please everyone, keep in touch. We will miss you greatly.

While here we will be dropping the RV at the dealership in Richmond for 2 weeks for some work. I don’t know why but every time work needs to be done we always hear — “We need it for 2 weeks”. Geez! Anyway it is going in to repair the slide topper and body damage that we did during week one back in August. Man have we learned a lot since then. You can see in the photo above the damage done when RV meets power pole. Hopefully in 2 weeks the mobile mansion will be back looking good as new. It was a lesson learned but a costly one. What is tough is that without the RV we are homeless. We are packing our suitcases today and will be staying at the Little Creek Navy Lodge for a week and then after all the doctors appointments, we will move up to the Bethesda Navy Lodge for the second week. While there we will visit and play around the DC area.

After picking up the RV we will be heading north to spend Thanksgiving with family in New Jersey. This has been the tradition for years and we hope to continue it going forward. That is why we will be scheduling doctor appointments in November.

From New Jersey comes the big drive west to California. We have already started planning the trip. We will keep the driving to around 250 miles a day. We plan on driving everyday except on weekends where we will park a couple of days to grocery shop, do laundry and of course, watch football. The goal is to arrive in Indio CA on December 21st, in time to spend the Christmas holidays with our west coast family. We have a great RV resort reserved so can’t wait to share the photos of that with all of you later.  It will blow your mind.

This hasn’t been an exciting post this week but wanted to get everyone caught up on what is going on and where we are. Until next time…..

Get everyone and everything 100% and then enjoy the Thanksgiving Holiday up in NJ. We will be counting the days until you arrive out here. Happy trails. Love you, Mom.
