We are still out here. Sorry I missed a post last week but with all the driving in our move south, I just didn’t get a chance to do it. Where I left you, we were leaving Foxborough MA. We had a stop in East Lyme CT on our way to Freehold NJ. We stopped in Freehold in order to visit with Kean’s Aunt and Uncle – Wally & Dot French who live in Avon-by-the-Sea on the NJ shore. We were able to spend some time and have dinner with them. As always, it was great spending time with them. After leaving Freehold, we drove to an overnight stop in Kutztown PA which was a waypoint on the way to Raystown Lake. We got to Raystown Lake on Thursday and were joined there on Friday by Kean’s cousin and wife – Scott & Anne French. Friday we hiked around the lake prior to Scott and Anne’s arrival and Saturday we rented a pontoon boat and spent the day on the lake. Weather was great as was the company.
Since leaving PA, we stopped for a couple of nights at Shenandoah River State Park in VA. This was a park we stayed at on our way north. From there we stopped at the RV Dealership so they could take a look at the damage from week 1 and order parts for a November repair. Then on back to Va Beach. We played in a golf tournament for Seabee Memorial Scholarship Association. Really rainy day but it’s such a good cause that it was definitely worth it.
We planned on staying in Va Beach through the weekend to play some more golf with our golf pals before heading to Myrtle Beach for the month of October. The hurricane winds worried me (plus we were parked under trees) so we decided to move inland. We are now in Roanoke Rapids NC, will stop in Fayetteville and settle in Myrtle Beach on Tuesday.
So you are now caught up. Lots of driving and moving around these last two weeks so I will be happy to settle in for a while. Oh and by the way, several folks have been concerned during this storm and asked where we are so don’t forget to check the blog map. I have been good about updating the map when we arrive in a campground. You will alway know where we are parked (unless I have no Internet which has only happened once).
Until next week……
