Last Saturday was moving day. Didn’t have to go get boxes or a moving van; just went and picked up the motorhome and brought it to the house. Made lots of trips back and forth but got most of it done that day. Even had time to show all the neighbors our new digs. Earlier in the day we sold a lot of our furnishings to an unfortunate couple that we know that lost everything in a fire. And on top of that their mover was a professional Stager that bought just about all the rest. We have a few pieces of furniture left that is out on Craigs List so hopefully it will be gone soon. The closing date is June 16th so have to get it out.
So now we are officially living in the our new home. It really is quite nice. Kean is still working so I have spent my days getting everything in and organized (and secure since this home will be moving down the road). The things we wanted to take are fitting nicely so that is a relief. It’s funny though — the smaller your environment, the smaller the amount of stress. We are in our own “little” world now. We are parked at the NAS Oceana Campground and will be here until the first week of August. Right around $500 a month for our site which includes water, sewer, electricity and WiFi. Can’t beat that!
Now we get comfortable and learn how all this works. There is a learning curve but that is part of the fun. We went 4 days without hot water before we figured out what was wrong with that. Kean showered at the gym and I ran back to the house. We knew it was operator error which it was but just had to work through the process. We know that this is only the beginning and many more “inconveniences” will come up. You just have to laugh it off.
August can’t get here fast enough. The road is calling.
